Lobo ASA (Aug 2-5, 2012)_

Went to Estancia,  New Mexico (the Shopes lovely ranch), for a many faceted competition weekend.

My friend Lori rode with me (she drove to Memphis, for what was to be a very eventful drive. With 115 degree temps across Oklahome we were relieved with the low 100's in Texas. Unfortunately, after getting gas in Amarillo, I discovered that my van would no longer go over 30 mph. Fortunately we found some wonderful folk at a Mexican Restaurant (Taco Garcia's) and a near by, and recommended, transmission shop, plus a rental van. We got to NM Thursday AM, and my van got to the shop.

The rest of the weekend went better.  Tommy earned finals points in sheep, ducks and cattle! And managed to survive working in the larger arenas! Todd went reserve winners dog 3 of the shows! And baby Junebug (in the 2-4 month puppy bitch class) went BOBp under Stephanie Shope and BOSp under David Clayton (the only shows we competed in!

I had a successful time with my stockdog apprenticing.

And the drive home was unevenful. Picked the fixed van up in Amarillo, and made it back to Memphis!
